NMC holds Welcome Back Fair

“This is the first time we are hosting this type of event for our students on the first day of classes,” Division of Student Services Dean Janice Ada Tenorio said.

According to NMC, the fair brought to campus vendors who provide services to students.

Bank of Hawaii, First Hawaiian Bank and Bank of Guam were among the companies that participated in the fair.

Students who wanted to open a checking account were provided forms by the banks.

Docomo Pacific and IT&E, for their part, offered affordable student packages while Megabyte and PC Outlet showcased their laptops.

Participating government agencies included the Women Infants and Children program, the Nutrition Assistance Program and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ Child Care Assistance program.

Student organizations  had the opportunity to recruit new members.

These included the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Associated Students of NMC.

ASNMC is accepting applications for the election of new officers in September.

NMC said the Office of the Student Activities and Leadership has planned a week of activities for the students, including campus tours, ASNMC Become a Leader Campaign, Video Game tournaments and student orientations.

Tenorio said they plan to engage the students throughout the semester by hosting a number of events that can elevate their curricular and community involvement.

She is extending her gratitude to NMC Office of Student Activities and Leadership program coordinator Perry Inos Jr., marketing coordinator Matthew Cabrera and other staff members who helped organize the event.
