DEPARTMENT of Public Works Secretary Ray Yumul was booked and briefly detained on July 24, 2025, for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested in the parking lot of Twin’s Market in Lower Navy Hill.
According to information obtained by Variety, Yumul was charged with DUI, reckless driving, and misuse of a government vehicle.
He was also cited for refusing to take a breathalyzer test and for a license plate violation.
Yumul, 52, is scheduled for a court appearance on Aug. 21.
He has yet to issue a statement regarding the charges against him.
