Art exhibit gets support from schools

Arts Council coordinator Parker Y. Yobei said students from G.T. Camacho Elementary School and the history class of Grace Christian Academy will visit the gallery.

 “We will be bringing some of the artists to do some hands-on work with the students from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on the dates the children will be at the gallery,” Yobei said.

He said  GTC’s fourth grade students will visit the art gallery on Sept. 29 and Oct. 8. Two classes of fifth graders will visit the gallery on Oct. 13 and 15, while two sixth grade classes will be there on Oct. 20 and 22.

 The Grace Christian Academy history class under John Manglona Norther will visit the gallery on Oct. 16.

Yobei said  more artists and art collectors have joined the exhibit since it opened on Sept. 21.

The participating artists include Jeung Ae Yoo, Susan Marchitti, Robert Hunter, Mark Robertson, Ignacio Borja, R. Diaz, Leung Kung, Francisco M. Cabrera, Priscilla Pangelinan, Jake Mendiola, Rino Obar, Xiao Ping, Catherine P. Anderson, Lucille Kraufer, Jose T. Ayuyu Jr., Sylvia Daguitan, Debbie Winkfield, Margarita Serepao, Vicente C. Duenas, and the late  Albert Toves Jr.

Yobei urges the community to support the local artists by visiting the art gallery, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m.-12 noon on Saturday. The gallery is closed on Sundays and holidays.
