Zapanta tops September Prince of the Lanes; typhoon stalls King & Queen final roll-off

Zapanta tallied 844 pin falls to get into a nine-month sweep besting four other young bowlers of the island.

Starting with 267 pin falls in Game 1, the eight-time Prince of the Lanes continued his winning feat all the way to the final match and went miles ahead of his opponents. Zack Cruz who started in fourth place during Game 1 geared up in Game 2 and 3 to win the second place with a total of 589 pin falls.  Leeanne Yarobwemal was having a good start in Game 1 but she struggled in the succeeding matches except in Game 4 where she bounced back with 168 pin falls. She finished with 586 pin falls and settled for third place.Troy Verdaguer tallied 566 pin falls and Marion McKenzie, 525 pin falls.Meanwhile, the second day of day roll-off for the Budweiser September King & Queen of the Lanes was postponed on Monday due to Typhoon Choi-Wan.The Saipan Bowling Association moved the final roll-off and the awarding for the monthly winners on Sunday, Sept. 20.In the first day of roll-off, Emi Williams was leading in the women’s division with 703 pin falls followed by Lynn Santos who tallied 672 pin falls.Alex Castro topped the first roll-off match with 830 pin falls and Simon Manacop, 793 pinfalls.
