Cloud, Diaz snap CPA’s winless streak

Cloud, who had not been around in many games since the IT&E Inter-government & Business League started last month got himself acquainted by bombarding power house NTT Docomo with perimeter shots to end CPA-Accounting’s winless streak during last Wednesday’s game at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.

With Ed Diaz helping Cloud mount the rally early in the first quarter, CPA-Accounting maintained the lead all the way to the ball game.

Their defense smothered halfway to the final buzzer cutting Docomo’s Wowee Abuel’s scoring feat to 11 points while Cloud and Diaz went unleashed their rage to keep the gap open leading to their 59-53 victory.

Cloud who also controlled the rebound finished with 27 points, and Diaz chipped in 14 points.

James Villacrusis, in an effort to catch up fired 16 points and Wowee Abuel added 11 points.

DCCA 96, CHC 81

Commonwealth Health Center’s Joe Tudela and Richard Brostrom were missing in action leaving a space wide open for Department of Community and Cultural Affairs to go undeterred leading to their 96-81 win.

Romeo Iginoef sizzled with 28 points while Taj Van Buren who grabbed most rebounds scored 24 points.

The lack of two power towers left CHC with Edgar Pangelinan carrying the team almost single-handedly reaping 44 points.

Ben Lisua backed him up with 18 points.
