The mayors on Tinian and Rota will hold simultaneous proclamation ceremonies.
At the same time, EMO is coordinating with the Public School System in conducting school-based disaster preparedness activities.
Aggressive public education and outreach activities will be conducted and funding will come from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, according to EMO acting supervisor for planning Florence S. Calvo.
Calvo said EMO will use NOAA grants its secured from fiscal years 2008 and 2009, amounting to $105,340 to complete the tsunami evacuation signs for Saipan and start the tsunami inundation mapping project.
