In spite of a super performance by Javis Pedro and Benny Feliciano who contributed 33 and 17 for business division team Shark Attack against WCTC / Fuji, point guard Noel Avenido and small forward Tobel attacked the defense of the latter to finish with 15 and 30 points, respectively that helped team WCTC / Fuji down the stretch of the match. And with the clock winding down to its final buzzer, Avenido took the driver seat at the last canto, as he was able to put in three straight points, 1 basket and a split shot at the line to turn the lights out on the their challengers, 83 – 81,
In the government division, Edson Chiokai of the MOF – Omsangel drained a free throw after being fouled driving hard to the hoop to get them back the lead of 1 point, 78 – 77, of which his team hang on until the buzzer sounded on their rival, Team PNCC. Weston Ketebengang and Roydan led MOF on scoring with 31 and 14. Other results for matches were as follows; September 16, MOE – Spiders drubbed team Cops, 98 – 78, in which Raymond, Curtis, and George of the Spiders team scored 21, 14, and 24 while SDA/PTA crushed team MOE II with a whopping score of 105 – 49 then PRR – Royals routed Cliffside, 86 – 77. September 17, Team Galaxy won against team Fish N Fins, 76 – 61; Surangel beats PPR- Stingrays. September 18, MOH edged team PNOC, 72 – 69, where Scott and Josh of team MOH finished with 27 and 18 on the other hand, Burton and Jacques scored 26 and 15 for team PNOC. For the next scheduled matches, September 21 will be between KSG vs. PTA / SDA for the first game, MPIIC vs MOE II, then Island Rhythm vs. team Galaxy. September 22 features team WCTC/Fuji vs. PRR – Royals, Palasia vs. Shark Attack, then Sam’s Sharks vs. Surangel. September 23 games are between MOF and PNOC, Spiders vs. PNCC, Fish n Fins vs. PPR – Stingrays. 21 teams split into two divisions, Government and Business, vying for this year’s championship crown.
