CAT01-25 on its halfway point

LTJG Russell Dotson Officer-in-charge of the Civic Action Team (CAT) said the team is about to complete its bathroom facility in Angaur.

The facility is the biggest project to date of the team which entails the construction of 288 square feet at the Angaur Elementary School. The project is expected to be finished by Nov. 1.Dotson said the project would have been finished earlier than scheduled but bad weather was the biggest obstacle it faces in completing the project.The bathroom facility will benefit 26 students who use an outhouse pending the construction.The team’s upcoming project includes the building of metal fence across the Palau High School.The team will also be doing foundation work and septic system for the Ngardmau Police /Fire Substation. The work will begin on Nov. 2.In the medical community program of the team, the Navy Corpsman visited 16 states and saw 1,400 patients.The team will also be joining forces with a youth group to put up a haunted house for the Halloween.The team has also showed movies in different states and conducted technical assistance programs in the community.CAT 01-25 will turnover Camp Katuu on January 2010 to the Army Civic Action Team.
