Ada said the projects funded by the American Recovery Reinvestment Act are major ones like roads, water, power, education and energy-related.
“If we are just talking about putting up shaded areas at the Paseo de Marianas, then more than likely that wouldn’t be funded under ARRA,” he added.
ARRA funds are for projects that are large scale and will encourage employment creation and economic activity, he said.
But Commerce is willing to meet with MVA to discuss its other potential projects that will help boost the economy, he added.
According to Ada, there are several grant opportunities that MVA can apply for.
The Paseo De Marianas project was proposed by MVA and it involves the creation of shaded areas for shoppers.
