The Hyatt Regency Saipan, through attorney Michael A. White filed the complaint in Superior Court, against the Legislature and Walter Macaranas.
The plaintiff is asking the court to grant judgment against the defendants for the sum of $3,250 with interest from Jan. 13, 2009 at the rate of 9 percent per annum, for costs, and for interest on the total at the maximum rate provided by law from the date of judgment.
The complaint stated that on Jan. 13, 2009, the defendants incurred a debt to the plaintiff for food and beverages services worth $3,250, together with interest.
The plaintiff said notwithstanding the demand, “the defendants failed, refused and neglected and still fails, refuses and neglects to pay the sum or any part to the plaintiff.”
The plaintiff said it is also entitled to pre-judgment interest.
The Superior Court has given the defendants 20 days to answer the complaint.
Failure to file an answer within the prescribed time could result in a judgment by default against the defendants.
