(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — Seventy-nine additional individuals were confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Monday, bringing the CNMI total to 4,344 cases since March 26, 2020. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 79 cases identified on Jan. 24, 2022, fifty were identified via contact tracing, 18 via community testing and 11 via travel testing. One was identified on Tinian and four on Rota.
As of Jan. 25, 2022, there were six individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:
3 were unvaccinated, 2 vaccinated and 1 partially vaccinated.
Two of the six were on a ventilator.
A total of 118 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on Jan. 25, 2022, resulting in 98.7% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated, which affords the community more protection against severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
The vaccination statuses of the 79 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 805 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 24, 2022:
642 via community-based testing;
87 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only);
27 at the Tinian Health Center; and
49 at the Rota Health Center.
Of the total cases identified, as of Jan. 24, 2022, there had been 3,887 recoveries and 435 active cases.
1,991 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 1,846, community testing; and 507, travel testing.
There have been 22 Covid-19-related deaths since March 2020.
