According to Run Saipan president Edward Dela Cruz Jr., the young runners “set the course records for their divisions. These are the standards to beat in next year’s  Run From 2022.”

Amazing turnout

123 runners participated in the year-end event, Dela Cruz noted.

“I think the turnout was amazing, especially for being the first road race to officially open up on the main road or highway,” he added.

Agape Christian School was honored for bringing in a total of 85 runners, Dela Cruz said.

Marianas High School and Saipan International School also showed their support, and Dela Cruz is hoping that other schools will join next year’s event.

“This, for me, was more of a test run to see if people were interested in a one-mile race,” he added, referring to the Run From 2021 event.

Dela Cruz at the same time would like to recognize and thank the support of the Saipan Mayor’s Office, the Department of Public Safety, the Marianas Visitors Authority, Northern Marianas Athletics, the Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force, and the Triathlon Association of the CNMI.
