(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — 128 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 4,692 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported on Friday evening.
The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 128 cases identified on Jan. 27, 2022: 74 were identified via contact tracing, 46 via community testing, and 8 via travel testing.
17 were identified on Rota.
As of Jan. 28, 2022, there were 9 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19: 4 were unvaccinated, 4 were vaccinated, and 1 was partially vaccinated. Two of the 9 were on a ventilator.
A total of 119 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Jan. 28, 2022, resulting in 98.9% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.
The vaccination statuses of the 128 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 937 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 27, 2022:
633 via community-based testing;
182 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only);
17 at the Tinian Health Center; and
105 at the Rota Health Center.
Of the total cases identified, as of Jan. 27, 2022, there had been 3,993 recoveries and 676 active cases.
2,140 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 2,018, community testing; and 534 travel testing.
Since March 2020, there have been 23 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
