BEN Duenas topped the Amigos Golf Club’s first Ace of the Month Tournament of the new year on Sunday at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
Duenas closed the front nine with a gross of 75. With a handicap of 11, his net score of 64 gave him the lead.

He struggled a bit in the transition to the back nine but still ended with a decent gross score of 78. Supported by an 11 handicap, his net score was 67 and his total score was 131.
Tied in second place were Joe Sablan Sr. and son Joe Sablan Jr., both with a total score of 132.
Sablan Jr. played well, closing the front nine with a net score of 68 and followed through the back nine with a net of 64.
Sablan Sr.’s handicap of 24 gave him a net score of 63 in the front nine and 69 in the back.
As for the side events, the Closest to the Pin Awards went to Syl Ada at hole #6; Ed Manglona, hole #8; Brian Camacho, hole #12; and Shirlyn Jones, hole #15. Each received $190.
