CNMI Covid-19 Task Force Chairman Warren F. Villagomez on Friday said Fleming Hotel has been designated as the Tinian isolation site in the CNMI’s Covid-19 response.
On Saipan, the Saipan Ocean View Hotel was activated as an isolation site on Thursday.
On Rota, negotiations were still ongoing.
Villagomez said transporting supplies to Tinian and Rota has proven to be a struggle given the recent suspension of Star Marianas’ inter-island flights.
He said there are ongoing discussions with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Public Safety-Boating Safety to ensure that necessary supplies reach Tinian and Rota.
Villagomez thanked federal and CNMI partners for “tirelessly transporting our needs, from supplies to anything we need to push out to Rota and Tinian as soon as possible.”
Due to the rise in the number of positive Covid-19 cases in the CNMI, the task force has continued to “cycle” persons under investigation, in and out of isolation sites.
On Saipan, these include Kanoa Resort, the former Mariana Resort, and the Pacific Islands Club Saipan.
Villagomez said Covid-19 safety measures and protocols are continually being enforced at all quarantine and isolation sites.
He said the task force is also working around-the-clock to support the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. at the Medical Care and Treatment Site located east of the CHCC emergency room, as well as the alternate care site at Kanoa Resort.
CHCC, the CNMI Covid-19 Task Force and the administration continue to encourage unvaccinated individuals to get vaccinated.
All eligible community members should also obtain a Covid-19 booster shot to help prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death, health authorities said.
If you have concerns regarding possible exposure to a positive case, call CHCC contact tracers no later than 9 p.m. at (670) 285-1942, 286-1710, or 286-1729.
If you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, or new loss of taste or smell, see your provider or call the CHCC Tele-Triage hotline at (670) 233-2067.
