On Rota, the cost of fuel went down 10 cents. Mobil’s regular gas price went down to $6.44 a gallon from $6.54 a gallon while the diesel price went down to $8.77 a gallon from $8.87 a gallon.

“Good news!” said motorist Warlee Ellama whose job involves monitoring amusement machines.
Ellama, who is the league secretary of the Saipan Billiards Association, also had to oversee its tournaments so he spends $60 worth of gasoline every two weeks. He said when fuel prices reached more than $5, $60 worth of gasoline did not last two weeks.
Now that gas prices have been decreasing, the tank of his Mazda 5 still has fuel even after two weeks, he added.
“This rollback is helping me now. I hope this will continue,” Ellama said.
According to Reuters, crude oil futures settled lower on Wednesday, “as an early rally fizzled and selling intensified on worries the Omicron variant of coronavirus could cut oil demand as global supply builds.”
Late in the session, Reuters added, “oil prices dropped into negative territory after U.S. officials said the Omicron variant — believed more transmissible than previous strains of coronavirus — had been found in the country.”
