TEAM Santa took the top spot in the youth mixed team division of the Northern Marianas Athletics’ 40th Annual Christmas Island Relay on Saturday.
The team captain was Andrei Kaithlyn Chavez and the members were Dev Bachani, Cody Shimizu, Anthony Bergancia and Markus Toves.
They finished the 13.7 mile-long race from the Pacific Islands Club in San Antonio to the Last Command Post in Marpi with a time of 01:31:04.
Agape Team B finished second with a time of 01:44:12. Hudson Tan was the team captain and his crew consisted of Allen Luo, Peter Peng, Joseph Li, and Peter Yang,
Finishing third were the Saipan Swim Club members: Michael Miller, Moshe Sikkel, Taiyo Akimaru, Jack Raho, and Takeru Jim.
The team, whose captain was Miller, crossed the finish line at 01:47:23.
For its part, the Northern Marianas Athletics would like to acknowledge the Department of Public Safety for ensuring the safety of the runners.
