Herman’s Modern Bakery is 79 in 2023

THE oldest bakery in the CNMI, Herman’s Modern Bakery or Herman’s Bakery is turning 79 years old this year.  

Established in 1944 by businessman Herman Guerrero and just right after the Japanese era, Herman’s Bakery institutionalized the sweet and pullman bread. 

Now, the bakery is not just an established bread and pastry wholesaler and retailer, but it is also well-known for its creatively designed and magically flavorful cakes. 

Aside from bread, pastries and cakes, Herman’s also distributes USDA-approved products such as suckling pig, turkey, ham, chicken, smoked ham, prime rib, pork leg and steamboat. 

They also have roasting services, external product roasting services, catering andother assorted products related to baking. 

Herman’s is also the trusted vendor of the CNMI Public School System’s Food Service Nutrition Meals, and island breakfast and lunch meals from Tan Marakita’s Café. 

2023 new products

This year, Herman’s will have Thanksgiving special packages that will feature savory and scrumptious meat packages. 

They are also offering catering services for holiday events such as the upcoming Easter celebrations, Christmas and New Year. 

Tan Marakita’s Cafe will be selling Apigigi and Papaya Turnover which is a new product

Our founders and family knew it would take a lot of work when they first dreamed and planned of Herman’s Modern Bakery. From the beginning, our founder Mr. Herman Guerrero knew he had to have confidence in the quality of product he was presented to our first patrons, and it delivered,” a statement from the management team said.
