SINCE 2019, Marianas Dental Center has been at the forefront of dental care on Saipan, offering a comprehensive range of services to meet the oral health needs of the entire community.

Formerly known as Toothworks, Marianas Dental Center was taken over by Dr. Neil Limbo, who has since transformed it into a state-of-the-art dental facility dedicated to improving smiles across the Marianas.

MDC’s team of two dentists and 12 staff members, led by Dr. Peter Ryoo, who brings his extensive experience from San Francisco, California, prides itself on creating a welcoming environment for patients.

“Our staff is not only skilled but also known for their outgoing and friendly personalities. They have a unique gift for making patients feel comfortable and at home from the moment they walk in,” said Dr. Limbo.

MDC offers a wide array of dental services. “These include cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, dentures, and teeth whitening,” Dr. Limbo adds. For younger patients who may feel anxious about dental procedures, MDC provides a unique solution: “We offer laughing gas to help treat anxious kids.”

Specialized services

MDC sets itself apart by committing to bringing specialized treatments to Saipan. For one, it is the only Invisalign provider on the island. That is a known brand of thin clear aligner used to straighten teeth.

MDC has also expanded its services to include orthodontics through a partnership with Dr. Paul Sauget from Future Smiles Orthodontics. This collaboration is particularly beneficial for local patients, “saving patients time and money from having to travel to Guam for orthodontic care,” Dr. Limbo said.

Understanding the unique challenges faced by the CNMI community, MDC has adapted its services in order to be able to provide a wider range of treatments locally. “We have also established a collaborative relationship with specialists in Guam and continue to bring them to Saipan, ensuring the local community has convenient access to specialized care without the need for off-island travel,” he added.

It’s not just about teeth

The impact of MDC’s work extends beyond just dental health. Dr. Limbo shared a memorable case involving a customer service professional who needed dental crowns. “After receiving their crowns, the patient shared how the treatment not only improved their confidence at work but also contributed to a significant change in their self-esteem. This transformation led to a more positive outlook overall and highlights the broader impact that dental care can have on a person’s well-being.”

To ensure accessibility, MDC accepts a variety of payment options. It accepts Medicaid, Calvo’s SelectCare, Staywell, TakeCare, and Hawaiian Dental Service dental insurances. They also take cash and credit card payments (Mastercard, Visa, and Discover). For those without insurance, MDC offers an in-house dental plan called the “MDC Smiles Program.”

As Marianas Dental Center continues to grow and evolve, it remains steadfast in its commitment to the community. By providing top-tier dental care, bringing specialized services to the island, and creating a welcoming environment for all patients, MDC is truly making a significant impact on oral health on Saipan.
