ESET gains popularity as more businesses, individuals use it for virus protection

In these modern times where almost everyone has access to the internet, shares files with others and uploads anything from other media devices, vulnerability to virus is always there.

“Disaster can strike anytime but using effective anti-virus software like ESET can help you be prepared for any attack,” says E-Center Plus manager Bernie Mabalot.

Since E-Center Plus started introducing the ESET anti-virus software to the market last year, their clients have been increasing including businesses with over 50 to 500 computer units.

“We used to resell Norton but we found that ESET is much more powerful in detecting and preventing viruses from attacking your computers,” Mabalot said.

E-Center Plus is the sole authorized reseller of ESET in the Pacific region and Puerto Rico.

Mabalot said they are also getting a fair share of individual clients who come in and buy the ESET software for their personal computers.

He said big businesses and government agencies, like the Department of Homeland Security for example, use ESET to protect their systems against viruses.

“It’s really affordable and we can install it for the clients if they need help, or just sell them a licensed copy of the software,” Mabalot said.

The ESET advantage

Mabalot said compared to other anti-virus software, ESET has more features like superior detection, fast performances and numerous certifications to prove its effectiveness.

“ESET NOD32 protects you against unknown threats,” Mabalot said.

A proactive threat detection by anti-virus comparatives in May 2009 showed that ESET had a 56 percent detection rate, more than its competitors like BitDefender, Kaspersky, AVG, Symantec, McAffee and F-Secure.

ESET also scans files faster to reduce the lag in your systems —about 2,000 files per millisecond — and has the shortest boot time lag.

“Our goal is to protect your digital records and files by providing you with the most effective programs and software available in the market,” Mabalot said.

ESET software costs $65 but you can get it at a discounted price for $43 at E-Center Plus. For more information about ESET, visit E-Center Plus on Middle Road Garapan or call 233-5252.{jcomments off}
