THE people of Tinian have been requesting a status report on the $21+M paid to the Commonwealth Ports Authority by DoD for the lease on a portion of West Field to construct an Air Force Divert Facility.
CPA has refused to present their plan for the expenditure of these funds to the people of Tinian. There can be only two reasons: 1) they don’t have a plan, which is most likely; or 2) the board has decided to spend it on projects unrelated to making the Tinian Commuter Terminal qualified to receive international flights.
Would you please have one of your reporters attend the next CPA board meeting and ask the Executive Director these questions?
Which bank is the money in and how much interest has it earned?
Who has been identified to oversee these funds?
And, please ask for a written copy of their plan for the expenditure of these funds.
