We must be ready to adapt to a changing world technologically and demographically to meet the demands of our business community and our tourism industry.
There should be innovations in technology in government and the private sector to a point where our economy is able to generate more revenue by just clicking the computer mouse.
We may not have all the funding we need but we may get some federal incentives or some new businesses to help achieve our development goals.
We should beautify our islands, improve education, train more residents and create new jobs for them.
We should also implement laws that help businesses and allow them to take advantage of our diverse community.
I have to say I am very impressed with the way Portland City was transformed a little over 10 years and it really looks great now with all the changes they put in place including the new electric trains that have replaced the big smoky public buses we have 15 years ago.
I would say that Portland is the greenest city on the West Coast.
Private businesses play a big role in the ongoing improvements here and there is no negative thinking blocking Portland’s master plans.
