Congratulations also to Joe Pangelinan of CNMI Personnel Management Office for leading a petition to support the House bill. According to Mr. Pangelinan, 1,200 government employees support passage of House Bill 17-266. I am an active government employee, and I also support passage of the House bill. Too much time and effort have been spent considering ways to save the Fund, which is expected to last only three years. I urge the CNMI Senate to pass House Bill 17-266, so government employees have the option to withdraw their contributions. The bill also allows government employees to keep their contributions in the Fund if they prefer.
