Let’s get our facts straight. Georgetown Consulting, an independent firm hired by CPUC, recently recognized the enormous benefit the administration conferred on both CUC and CDA when it successfully executed a debt-to-equity conversion agreement that wiped out millions of dollars in CUC debt. The government created a win-win situation for CUC and CDA that benefited the CNMI public in a major way. This is no lie. This is the truth. This is a major accomplishment. And this makes things much better for CUC and for Ed Propst.
Second, Georgetown Consulting also recognized the substantial progress CUC made in successfully rehabilitation our long-neglected power plants, to such an extent that we will soon no longer need the temporary Aggreko generators we have been leasing to maintain a stable power supply. This is no lie. This is true. And this is also better for CUC and Ed.
We have to remember that Ed Propst initially attacked Aggreko. If we followed Mr. Propst advice, we would still be in the dark today. Propst was wrong about Aggreko and he is wrong about the progress made by CUC. Propst complains about so-called “better lies,” but to me, he is just “Bitter Ed.” And he shouldn’t be, because CUC came a long way.
