Letter to the Editor: Dear governor

I hate to say it GOVERNOR but you’re not to blame solely for your mastermind decisions but the HOUSE and the SENATE have to ante  up  too.

PEOPLE  of the  CNMI,  now you’ve  seen  it all with your elected leaders — REPUBLICANS, DEMOCRATS, COVENANT, INDEPENDENTS. No matter what type of elected leaders we the people choose, this is the outcome — this is as good as it gets. Make no mistake about it.

In this coming election, it’s not who you know, it’s what do they know.

People think it’s my pare, primo, gachong, chelu doing the best as an elected official to serve and protect the CNMI. Are you sure? Stop and think about it then cast your VOTE. It’s your God-given right to do so.

Governor do you remember the movie “300” which MAXIMUS fought for his people and his country only to be betrayed in the end? What I am trying to say is use extreme caution in your lawsuit against the U.S. You have a lady speaker who has no passion for the CNMI and a U.S. president that has no use for coconut oil, if you know what I mean.

Strength and Honor were MAXIMUS’ words to his people. Can you say the same? Keep this in mind: The CNMI has a cash-strapped government and a broken economy with thousands of labor cases and God knows how many illegal migrants (some are in prostitution and massage  parlors). We have convicted corrupted  government employees, 20 House seats, nine senatorial seats for these small islands on top of a serious CUC problem and poor water and sewer services.

Do you want to go to the U.S. Congress knowing all this and say you’re knowledgeable and capable to sue the U.S. of A.?

You have your own agenda but something baffles me about your lawsuit. What are the grounds for it and how do the people of the CNMI will benefit if you sue the feds? Why should the CNMI sue the feds when the feds have been so generous to the CNMI?

Governor and all elected officials — one last thing. Don’t let the outsiders make “peache peache” about Saipan’s knowledge regarding federal government policies. Broaden your minds about federal and local government policies. Shame on you if you do nothing. Remember J.F.K.’s words: Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.

BIBA Chamorro! BIBA Fiestan Luta! BIBA CNMI!

P.S. Governor, you ask the federal government for federal funds to help the CNMI but then you sue them. Kind of reminds me of a boy telling his father, “Daddy you said Mommy is the beautifulest woman in the world but your girlfriend sure is pretty!”
