Part of what makes TAOTAO TANO unique is we take the issues directly to the heart of the controversy and we get the answers.
I asked the press secretary, Mr. Charles Reyes, twice and he confirmed it twice that the governor does not want homesteads in Marpi and that he never mentioned homesteads in Marpi in the first place.
This should bring clarity to our concerned community members.
But this does not mean that we should let down our guard. We should be watchful in the protection of our pristine and historical sites and natural habitats including all other significant landmarks in our homeland.
I firmly believe that the Brownfield project of removing unexploded ordnance from our homeland is highly important for the safety of our people and our visitors as whole and it must continue forward.
Again, we support the homestead program, but we do not support it in Marpi or in any other historically significant and important sites in the CNMI.
