Letter to the Editor: Mr. Tony Babauta

In the United States and other foreign countries, border control, forced prostitution and human trafficking are major issues.

Interior and its ombudsman have collaborated with federally funded organizations such as Guma Esperansa to push the federalization of our immigration control.

Enough is enough Mr. Babauta. Stop disrespecting and insulting our people.

U.S. Public Law 110-229 was about border and national security, according to former Interior Deputy Secretary David Cohen and Congresswoman Donna Christensen of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Interior VICTORIOUSLY won the debate on immigration control of the CNMI. Today, you want more!

Stop using reports based on old news. These should not be a basis for giving guest workers outright permanent residency or U.S. citizenship.

As for our economy, $100 million each year in remittances by guest workers leave the CNMI.

Mr. Babauta, did Interior  consider that this was a problem? Did Interior ever consider that such an issue is seriously financially draining the CNMI’s economy and affecting all aspects of public services and infrastructure?

Let us not forget that Interior and the ombudsman are using FOREIGN ORGANIZATIONS (and nationals) on U.S. soil while ignoring the concerns of U.S. citizens to push a self-interest agenda.

Now who is truly breaking the laws of IMMIGRATION BORDER CONTROL Mr. Babauta?
