This move by the attorney general is a direct result of his questionable activities in his office so now this is a revenge for him to abuse his power one more time, and thump his nose at us who demand openness and transparency in our government. They want to disregard the public demand in disclosing government activities.
It just goes to show us that they have every reason to come up with very nonsense excuses to ignore the people’s will. They think they can do whatever they want because they think they are above the law but actually they are making a fool of themselves.
As a Saipanese, I have a right to monitor my government. But as some of our dedicated citizens turn up the heat in the kitchen this attorney general wants to throw out the stove because he cannot handle the heat.
Go ahead Mr. A,G., but the people don’t approve of your administration’s crafty moves. This is like the G.O.P blocking and filibustering the Democrats’ disclosure law in D.C. This is not acceptable to our people who worked hard to vote for this Open Government Act. This move by the attorney general to amend the law is unethical thinking.
