Letter to the Editor: Thank you NMC students

These young and bright students developed an educational process in reaching out the people regarding the three  initiatives that were included on the ballot during the past election. It has made the voters, if not, citizens understand its’ intent and became very informative before the actual stroke of a pencil on D-Day.  Now, the majority has spoken. They voted NO on each of the initiatives.

Politicians, be careful. You have to know that these students are making sure that they reached the majority when voting something that would change their life forever.

This process is encouraged for people will no longer be left in the dark about the intent of initiatives.

We need these guys to provide common grounds where elements of initiatives are not hidden especially the “fine lines” that politicians try to hide to get a favorable vote for their own selfish reasons.

Thank you, guys. This is definitely democracy in action, and my respect goes to you. I would recommend for you to continue this check and balance approach for several reasons. It is good in the growth and development of your selves, educational for the CNMI society and it keeps the public well educated and informed and it bridges a two-way feedback system between the voters and politicians.

In fact, I would recommend that you stretched this to include monitoring bills or executive orders that will change lives forever. Good work guys, and may God bless you.
