Letter to the Editor: Tremendous help

These legislators provided a rental van for the CNMI 15 and Under Boys & Girls Basketball Teams for their use during the Micronesian Basketball Tournament. The typhoon that passed through the area brought heavy rains most of the week we were there.

Our young athletes were caught in the heavy downpour on several occasions while walking to the venue and while out to get their meals, before we got the van. The rental van was a tremendous help in shuttling our athletes. Their presence at the opening ceremony also was a great moral booster. Our young athletes were proud to see their island leaders in attendance giving them support.

I would like to recognize Delegate Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan, Rep. Ray Tebuteb, Clarence T. Tenorio, Jonas Barcinas, the families of the athletes and all the special individuals in our community who supported our athletes in this tournament. I would also like to extend our appreciation to Police Chief Ismael Aguon of the Palau Police Department and his family, Swingly Aguon, and the kind people of Palau who assisted and supported us.

Once again on behalf of our young athletes, coaches, managers, and BANMI, I want to extend our sincerest appreciation for their assistance and support.

Dangkulu na Si Yuus Ma’ase.
