Letter to the Editor: Winds of change

On my way out to work I felt that something good would happen that day. I came up with a prediction in my mind.

That  evening, on my way back to my residence as I passed CMS rock quarry I saw something and I said “Oh my God! Thank you very much my prediction has come true.” I was relieved and happy because our bad road had been fixed and the big holes were finally patched.

Earlier on the same day, I had already prepared my letter to Reps. Frederick Deleon Guerrero and Ramon Basa concerning the situation of the bad road and to request that they be patched.

When you’re on that road, driving, it felt as if you were on a boat fighting against  big waves. My main concern about our bad road was that if there’s an emergency in our area the emergency responding vehicle would take time to reach the emergency site because of the road condition. In any emergency situation, the driver has to take all precautionary measures for his safety as well as the safety of others within the area.

I would like to thank DPW or the mayor’s office for remembering us and fixing our bad road. My suggestion to the two congressmen I mentioned earlier was to visit us every  month to see for themselves the situation of our road. I was planning to put up a signboard as you pass CMS rock quarry, and my sign would have said, “Welcome to Kannat Tabla, Home of the Bad Road.” The sign would also warn motorists to take precautionary measures when driving as there were big bad holes ahead of them.

This was not an intimidation signboard but a warning to drivers especially those who are not from the area.
