I APPLAUD you for taking the extra step in addressing the issues facing the CNMI Department of Labor. You were once the CNMI DOL secretary and you faced a lot of dilemma within the department because your hands were tied. As a former resident department head for DOL Rota, I, too, faced the same issues due to federal interference.
As a concerned citizen, I urge you to work with other entities such as the federal government, the governor and your counterparts in the House to try and bring back authority so that our department can manage itself on matters affecting our workforce in the CNMI. We should gain back the authority and make a difference.
Again, thank you for taking the necessary steps in clearing the matter once and for all.
Sincerely,
DEXTER APATANG
