Add a little variety to your summer

Instead of Facebooking and sleeping all day, try one of these activities.

Learn a new skill

It could be any skill, whether it’s a sport or a language, it doesn’t matter as long as you have fun learning it. After summer, you can probably show your friends what you’ve been up to or apply those skills in your community. With tons of cultures and sports out there, you can be sure to find something out there that’ll pique your interest.

Catch up with some old faces

Perhaps you and a friend separated and went to different schools? Or maybe schoolwork has kept you away from your friend(s); summer will give you an opportunity to catch up with old faces and rekindle some burnt out relationships. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a friend; it could be a family member, a pen pal, or a pet. Give them a shout out and enjoy the summer together.

Get a job

If you feel like you should do something productive or you just want to leave the house, you should try getting a summer job. Chilling at home is nice, but establishing a foundation for your future and getting some pocket money over your long break from school isn’t bad either. With the money you’ll making, you can buy yourself some new clothes or save up for something special or important.

Travel

If this option is available, go for it! The world is your oyster and you should go out and see other cultures, try new cuisine, and do some sight-seeing.  Just get away from your troubles and enjoy your destination alone, or with your family. There are tons of destinations and no matter which place you go to, the experiences will be unique from the other.

Don’t let these things limit you; there are so many things to do over the summer. Boredom can creep in, but only if you let it. Make your summer interesting and worth telling to your friends. Remember not to do anything illegal and wear some sunscreen!
