AS part of its Giving For Good campaign, Crowne Plaza Resort, an IHG hotel, hosted a special lunch for the manamko’ at the Office on Aging in Garapan on Monday, Sept. 18.
Chefs presented a special buffet lunch for over 60 clients, served by the staff of Crowne Plaza. The buffet included island favorites like chicken kelaguen as well as roast ham, turkey, and more.
“The plan for today is to give us the opportunity to give back to some of our senior citizens here in the CNMI,” said Robert Coates, Crowne Plaza Resort general manager. “I think the senior citizens deserve some recognition and something special.”
Coates said for over 6,000 IHG hotels around the world, September is the month when they perform community service.
“[Crowne Plaza Resort] wanted to come here and give back to our senior citizens and show a gesture of kindness, and it didn’t take me longer than a second to say yes,” said Walter Manglona, director of the Office on Aging. “The holiday season is fast approaching, and we wanted to make sure that we start the celebration early.”
