(MVA) — The J-pop idol group SkySyllabus is set to perform live on May 24, 2025, at 26th Annual Taste of The Marianas International Food Festival in Saipan. The group, which has helped promote The Marianas in the past, will also be named a Marianas Goodwill Idol Ambassador at the festival.
SkySyllabus was founded in 2021 and performs across Japan and internationally. The music video of one of their signature songs — “Kirameki White Splash!” — was filmed on location in Saipan in 2023 in collaboration with the Marianas Visitors Authority. From 2023 to this year, the song has also been the background music for the National High School Baseball Championship airing on Chiba Television in Japan, gaining nationwide exposure.
“Our deep love for Saipan and the Northern Mariana Islands has become a core part of our identity,” the group said in a statement. SkySyllabus also performed at Taste of The Marianas last year, attracting fan followers from Japan to the event. While in Saipan again next month, they will be shooting a new music video.
“SkySyllabus has an expressed goal of building cultural bridges between Japan and world and fostering international friendship and mutual understanding through the power of entertainment, and MVA is pleased to be appointing the group as a Marianas Goodwill Idol Ambassador during May Tourism Month,” said MVA Managing Director Jamika R. Taijerson. “It’s clear they have a genuine affinity for the islands, and they will help share the beauty of our islands and our people with their fans and followers in Japan and beyond.”
