(Press Release) — Lions Club International District 204 Gov. Saturnino “Atoy” Banting, MJF took his oath of office on June 30, 2021, administered virtually by Lions Club International President Douglas Alexander at Rendezvous restaurant. It was witnessed by the over 90 Lion members from eight different clubs on Saipan.
DG Atoy’s term of office started on July 1, 2021. According to DG Atoy, he is very grateful for the opportunity and for the trust and support that was given to him by the Lions of District 204 which comprises Region 1 (Guam), Region 2 (Saipan) and Region 3, (Marshall Islands, FSM, and Palau).
He said as LCI’s Presidential Theme this year is “Service from the Heart” he has his own slogan, “Unity is Love” because he strongly believes that when all the Lions are united, “we can serve more people.”
During the swearing in event, other Region 2 officers were installed and took their oath of office as well. Region 2 is headed by Lion Eden Mercado as the region chairperson, Lion Alicia Barbo and Lion Sandra Bartolome as the zone chairs, Lion Donna Fronda as assistant secretary, Lion Maria Javier as assistant treasurer, Lion Vince Cabrera as peace officer, Lion Mario Mayuga, MJF as IT vice chair, Lion Zaldy Quebral as district marketing head, LCIF assistant coordinator Lion Al Cabael, and communication vice chair Lion Daisy Sablan as Ways & Means vice chair, Lion Ladyvir Canape, PMJF as the Leo/Youth Camp vice chair and Lion Marilyn Parnes as Peace Poster vice chair.
The other District 204 cabinet members in attendance were district secretary Lion Yho Villavicencio, district treasurer Lion Judy Mendieta, IT chairperson Lion Mar Masilungan, PMJF and global service team coordinator Lion Annamae Adaza.
