PILATES instructor Molena Macduff will conduct a class at Taga Beach, Tinian on Saturday, May 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Macduff said a $20 fee covers class instruction, with wine and charcuterie after class.
Clients “will get a workout that increases core strength and improves posture, while increasing flexibility and reducing stiffness,” she said.
Macduff’s class is normally held at Coral Ocean Point on Tuesdays on Hole #1 of the golf course, and Thursdays at the Beach Club Pool Deck. Classes at either venue are $10 per class or $50 for 10 classes. Classes start at 5:30 p.m. on either day.
“In my mat Pilates practice, we will focus on strength and restoration, restoring our bodies by aligning our spine and improving posture,” Macduff said. “We will utilize our body weight to strengthen muscles in our abdominals, glutes, arms, and pelvic floor.”
For Macduff, fitness is about progress, not perfection.
“My advice to someone who has not taken Pilates is: you do not have to be flexible or fit to reap the benefits of a Pilates class. During class, we will always have modifications and variations of difficult exercises,” she said.
