Poon’s Restaurant: Your budget-friendly destination

I got the chance to check out Poon’s Restaurant located near Hollywood Video on Middle Road, Garapan with three out-to-eat buddies on Friday noon.

A friendly wait staffer handed us menus and recommended their special lunch sets. She served us cold glasses of iced tea and left us to decide on what to order.

After having tried several versions of the lemon chicken from other restaurants, I decided to try Poon’s version of it. My buddies ordered Chinese chopsuey, broccoli beef, and sweet and sour pork.

Despite the lunchtime crunch, our corn soup was served in no time at all, followed shortly with our orders.

I forked a slice of lemon chicken to my mouth and gloried in the taste of the tender strips blended well with the taste of the lemon. It was good. My buddies dug into their plates, and very soon, only the memories of a pleasant lunch were left.

Poon’s Restaurant offers a diner so many options to choose from. Choose from over 20 selections under the special lunch set menu which comes with a glass of hot tea or iced lemon tea, soup, and a serving of rice. Additional rice serving is only 50 cents, and a $1 upgrade on the ice tea makes it bottomless.  Take out order is also available.
