(SCS) — The Saipan Community School Concert Band is proud to present its fall concert, “Places: A Concert About Places,” on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the SCS Chapel. This musical journey will transport the audience through various places around the world, with pieces that reflect cultural heritage, geographic beauty, and timeless traditions.
The program will include a variety of well-loved compositions such as “Norse Song” by Robert Schumann, “Moscow Nights,” “New World Salute.” and a patriotic medley in “The Red, The White, and The Blues.” The evening will also feature selections from “Peter and the Wolf” and “African Sketches,” showcasing the rich diversity of musical traditions from around the globe.

The concert will also showcase a solo performance by clarinetist Vivian Chung during “St. Louis Blues,” arranged by Paul Jennings.
The program will be performed by the Advanced Band, Intermediate Band, and Beginning Band, with special guest performers joining the advanced section. The performers include a talented group of students from various grades, some of whom will be debuting their skills on stage for the first time. The band students have worked diligently to prepare for this performance, and they are excited to share their love of music with the community.
