Manibusan is the team planner. “I organize clubs, events, and other stuff,” he said.
Manibusan’s knack as an initiator revealed itself when he first planned an organized football club in SSHS. This was followed by the Pace Maker Club in his junior year. The club organizes poetry slams.
Manibusan said he wants to invite other schools to start their own poetry clubs so they might compete with each other.
Most of the Student Council members of SSHS are with the nursing program. They are also part of the Youth Advisory Panel, We the People and the National Honor Society.
The council is focused on promoting positive messages about the island and encouraging students to take part in cleanups and other ways to beautify Saipan. Council members also hold fundraising events for other clubs like the SSHS band to help it with their trip to the London Olympics.
