The last total lunar eclipse of the year

Astro photographer Joshua Brazzle, a Tinian resident, used Orion 8” Newtonian Telescope,  Nikon D5300, Canon T100 in taking photos of the lunar eclipse that occurred on Nov. 8. CNMI residents saw the last total lunar eclipse of the year which began at 6:02 p.m. and ended at 11:56 p.m., Brazzle said. “We will continue to see partial lunar eclipses in the upcoming years, but the next total lunar eclipse will not occur until March 2025. The weather was perfect for taking photos of this rare event. The first photo shows a composite image of the phases of the eclipse above the Japanese shrine at Tinian’s Suicide Cliff. The second photo depicts three phases of the blood moon which were visible during the peak of the eclipse at approximately 9 p.m.,” he added.
