(Press Release) — The Tan Siu Lin Foundation donated $10,000 to the Saipan Mayor’s Office to support the Fourth of July activities on island.

The Liberation Day festivities include the return of the traditional parade that will be held this morning, while a 45-minute firework display in the evening will cap the annual celebration. This will be the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic struck that the NMI will have the parade, which features various marching units and float display from both private and public organizations.
“We are back. We bring back the island spirit that each of us takes pride as islanders living in this beautiful island. The Fourth of July festivities will lift the spirits of our residents and visitors,” Saipan Mayor David Apatang said.
Fifty groups are participating in the parade, including 21 entries in the float category. Cash prizes await the Top 6 in the competition float category with the first place winner taking home $5,000 and $4,000, $3,000, $2,000, $1,000, and $500 going to the second to sixth finishers.
“The Tan Siu Lin Foundation congratulates the Saipan Mayor’s Office and this year’s Liberation Day Committee for bringing back the highly anticipated parade. We are also pleased to join the community in remembering a very important part in our history. Happy Liberation Day,” Tan Siu Lin Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino said.
The Liberation Day Parade on Beach Road will start at 10 a.m. from National Office Supply to the Garapan Fishing Base.
