(VFW) — Chili Cook-Off is back! The Saipan Post of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3457 is pleased to announce that it is hosting its annual Chili Cook-Off which is free and open to the CNMI public.
Chili Cook off is located at the VFW home located in downtown Garapan, Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 4 p.m. to closing
The Chili Cookoff has no cover charge; the chili and other edibles are free and attendees may enjoy the coolest drinks on Saipan. (#drinkresponsibly #dontdrinkanddrive).
There are 15 slots open for participants to showcase and put their culinary talents to the test. The slots are closing fast and participants should reserve their slots by contacting Mariano Fajardo at (670) 285-0613.
The judging will be conducted by three volunteer stewards and cooks from the Military Sealift Command ships at anchor. Judging will occur at 7 p.m. sharp. Amazing prizes will be awarded to the tastiest chili’s on Saipan.
The Chili Cook-Off is an annual event that VFW hosts for the purpose of helping to support veterans, their families, and the community. Activities on the CNMI that the VFW supports include:
• Annual scholarship essay contest; Patriots Pen for middle schoolers and Voice of Democracy for high schoolers.
• Donations to non-profit organization for community work such as the Matua Riders, NMI Crime Stoppers and the CHC Volunteers
• Sponsorship of the newly formed US Naval Sea Cadet Corps on Saipan, the Natibu Division https://www.seacadets.org/join
