Back to school Summer Bash at the Palms a big ‘hit’

Saturday’s event was the second Summer Bash held by the hotel for this year.

Palms Resort Saipan Assistant General Manager Ray de La Cruz said that the number of guests have more than doubled compared to the first Summer Bash held on July 25.

“We are happy to have more guests on the Back to School Summer Bash,” Dela Cruz said.

He said the children had a grand time participating in the different games including water-balloon throwing contest, dancing contest, free banana boat rides and other water activities.

“Even adults had fun in the banana boat rides which we set out for the day,” he said.

Dela Cruz said the increased number of guests indicated that families took advantage of the time to bond together before classes will start for another school year. He said that they will be looking forward to a bigger event next year.

Winners in the different games went home with attractive prizes including Japanese lunch buffet at the Minami Restaurant for adults and food packages at Isa Bar for the kids.

The pool was opened to guests at 9 a.m. but even after 5 p.m., guests were still splashing around.

Parker Yobei and Power 99 DJ’s—Spade and G provided live entertainment from 11am to 3pm.

Palms Resort’s Isa Bar served French fries, burgers, hot dog, chicken nuggets, nachos, kabob, ice cream, assorted sodas and selected canned beer from $1 to $3. The guests also took advantage of the $5-Summer Bash bento consisting of red rice, coleslaw, one choice of barbeque chicken or short ribs and ice tea.
