Gary P. Camacho, power division manager, said the power outage will affect three laterals on the Feeder 4 circuit and will commence at 8:30 a.m. and end at 6:30 p.m.
The CUC linemen will replace five deteriorated power poles and their line hardware on the 1300 Block on Capital Hill.
Vegetation management will also be conducted to remove any hazards from the power lines, Camacho said.
This is part of an ongoing maintenance program that will continue throughout the island over the next few weeks, he added.
Other areas of the electrical grid will also be assessed and any needed repairs will be scheduled and performed accordingly.
Camacho said that because of the extreme danger in working on energized lines, the power outage is necessary to ensure the safety of the line crews.
Affected areas:
Feeder 4, First Partial Laterals (8:30 a.m. through 6:30 p.m.)
Streets that will be affected: Mednilla Avenue, Guguan Drive and Acho Street.
CUC apologizes for any inconvenience this power interruption may have on the community. CUC said it will continue to work diligently to minimize future interruptions.
