Ebisuya—11 years of serving the island

With shelves carrying lines of fresh products daily, Ebisuya is the best place to go when you want to satisfy your palate.

Rewind

Exactly 11 years ago, Ebisuya opened its doors to start catering to the needs of customers who have a passion for Japanese food and Japanese products.

The management said that they started off with the store, the bakery and with over 30 employees for its day to day activities.

Like the other the establishments in the island, Ebisuya had been hit by hard economic times but they have managed to keep their head above the water to continue serving their clients.

“It was an uphill climb for the store to reduce its operating expenses by reducing its manpower by more than half, impose strict cost control in all aspects like utilities and other expenses to survive but we made it,” the management said.

Today, a decade and a year later, Ebisuya has come a long way and has become a household word for deliciously packed meals or bento, breads and Japanese dishes and various other products. A few years after its opening, Ebisuya has put up tables inside the store where customers can eat or hang out with a cup of coffee.

Price slash-off

As a special anniversary promo, Ebisuya is offering a 10 percent discount on all items displayed at the store today until closing time. The management said that every Wednesday, a fresh supply of products is shipped in from Japan to replenish their displays.

“The products we put on display never gets stale because our aim is to sell only fresh products,” the management said.

The 10 percent discount today applies to all items like Japanese noodles, bento, sushi, breads and cakes, Japanese drinks, fish and seafood, fruit and vegetables and all other items.

Street Market

Beginning next month, Ebisuya will be joining the line of food vendors at the Street Market in Garapan.

“We had been planning to do this for a long time but it’s only now that we have finalized everything,” the management said.

Ebisuya will be offering Japanese seafood barbeque, a wide selection of Japanese dishes and Japanese sweets.

Joining the Thursday Street Market is one of Ebisuya’s way of expanding their services to customers beyond the regular store hours.

Future Expansions

Ebisuya is working out its expansion plans in putting up another outlet in the heart of Garapan.

“We would like to make our products accessible to everyone and we are pulling all strings to accomplish this target before the year ends,” Ebisuya management said.

The Ebisuya management said that they have already found an ideal place but they will be disclosing its location as soon as everything is ironed out and they are prepared for the big expansion.
