Free federal grants workshop

The “Doing Business with the Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Government” workshop will be held at  Northern Marianas College in Room V-205.

EPA agents from Washington, D.C., will facilitate the workshops and be available to answer any questions.

Among the many subjects to be covered at this workshop are the following: Taking Advantage of Federal Programs for Small Businesses, Effective Small Business Marketing Techniques, Navigating the EPA and the Federal

Government, Responding to Government Sources, How the EPA Office of Small Business Program Can Assist, and other topics.

Pohnpei special election

THE Pohnpei community on Saipan will hold a special election today, May 11, on the proposed amendments to the state constitution.

Voting will take place at the Garapan Central Park Round House between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Animals up for adoption

PAWS and Paradise Island Animal Hospital have a few great animals that are in need of responsible homes:

Female dog

A beautiful black and tan female boonie dog, about 3-4 months old, is up for adoption to a good home.  She is very calm and sweet.  She has been treated for fleas and ticks, worms, and vaccinated by Dr. Tudor at Paradise Island Animal Hospital (234-9669).

Kittens, kittens, kittens

Three kittens, all from separate litters, are currently up for adoption at Paradise Island Animal Hospital.    The kittens have been dewormed and treated for fleas.  All three are thought to be about 6-7 weeks of age and are cute and playful.  There are two females and one male.

If you are interested in meeting these kittens, please visit Paradise Island Animal Hospital between 9 a.m. and 12 noon, or from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. You may also call 234-9669.

Black puppies

PAWS and Paradise Island Animal Hospital have adorable black puppies that are up for adoption.  The puppies are about 6 weeks of age, dewormed, and vaccinated.

PAWS, Paradise Island Animal Hospital, and the Mayor’s Office have teamed up to help the animals and people of Saipan.  The above rescues and their medical costs are all made possible through PAWS donations and volunteers, in addition to contributions made by Paradise Island Animal Hospital.

Beautify CNMI monthly meeting

(Beautify CNMI) — Please be reminded that the monthly meeting is scheduled for May 13, Thursday, 6 p.m., in the Century Insurance conference room, at JP Bldg. on Beach Road.

Beautify CNMI is a coalition of government agencies, businesses, non-profit organizations, private citizens and visitors.
