Boy Scouts meeting
THE chairman of the CNMI District of the Aloha Council, Boy Scouts of America, Jesus C. Muna, is asking all Boy Scout adult leaders to attend a roundtable meeting on Thursday, June 10, at 6 p.m. in the Oleai Elementary School cafeteria.
The agenda will include preparation for the July 4 parade and the upcoming 2010 CNMI District Boy Scout Summer Camp program to be held on July 25 through Aug. 1, at Kan Pacific swimming pool field, in Marpi.
Scout parents or legal guardians are also invited to attend this meeting.

Oleai fundraiser
(OES) — Oleai Elementary School will hold its Cultural Day fundraiser on Saturday, June 12, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., on campus.
Food and drinks will be on sale. There will be a raffle draw and the grand prize is $1,000. There will be activities, game booths, entertainment, and much, much more.
Burning debris
(KKA) — The Kagman Komunidat Association would like to ask Kagman residents to refrain from burning any type of debris.
Community members have expressed concern about the abundance of smoke entering their homes from burning debris.
Burning debris poses a health risk to the public, especially to newborns and the elderly, and proper disposal of debris should be practiced instead.
KKA is encouraging residents to dispose of woods and leaves on undeveloped homestead lots instead of burning them.
Plastics and aluminum should be disposed of at the transfer station or at the Marpi landfill.
Womens’ group meeting
THE chairwoman of the CNMI Women’s Organization, Florine Hofschneider, is calling for a meeting on Thursday, June 10, at 12 noon at the Canton Restaurant in Garapan. Those who attend will have to pay for their meal.
