IT&E advisory
(IT&E) — Beginning Dec. 1 and throughout the month, IT&E will be upgrading all customer e-mail accounts to a new e-mail system.
During this transition time, customers may notice a lag time in accessing their Web-stored e-mails as the IT&E team works to copy all customers’ e-mail histories to the new system.
This lag time will only be temporary while the copying process is occurring.
Full integrity of all emails is assured during the e-mail system upgrade process.
Customers may also access their historical e-mails on the old e-mail system through the following URL address: https://202.88.64.40/express, after Dec. 1.
Your regular IT&E e-mail account will continue to be available from any Internet connection worldwide from the Web site www.pticom.com or www.ite.net.
To ensure you have complete access to all your Web stored e-mails you can download all your e-mails to you local computer or laptop at anytime.
All that is required is to setup your e-mail account settings on an e-mail client software program such as Microsoft’s Outlook Express or Apple’s Mail program.
For customers who already download their e-mails to their local computer on a regular basis no further steps are required.
Helpful tips and instructions for the most popular e-mail client programs may be found on the IT&E Web site under the Customer Support section, http://www.pticom.com/support.
If you require further assistance call the Helpdesk at 682-1060.
Customers’ address book or contact information will not be copied to the new e-mail system due to software incompatibility.
After Dec. 1 old contact listings can still be accessed at the above mentioned URL address: https://202.88.64.40/express.
The simplest way to copy address book listings is to copy the address information to clipboard and to paste the listing information into either your new IT&E Web address book or into your client email’s address book.
Visit http://www.pticom.com/support/address_book_migration.htm on how to copy your address book listings to Outlook Express. Assistance on all e-mail questions and issues is available at 682-1060.
Please note IT&E’s upgraded email system will require a complete login with your username and full domain name.
For example, if you type only the username before as “johnsmith”, please now type [email protected] or [email protected].
NMC partners with UH, University of Virgin Islands, UOG to launch grazing academy
(NMC) — Northern Marianas College has partnered with other colleges to launch the Marianas Grazing Academy, which is aimed at building local agricultural capacity and educating farmers and ranchers about increasing the economic viability of their products.
A project organized through a collaborative effort between the NMC-Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service and experienced pasture, livestock, and soil specialists from the University of Hawaii, University of the Virgin Islands, and the University of Guam, the academy also seeks to enhance the production of high quality meat products, which can serve to improve food sustainability through the adoption of appropriate technologies and practices in grazing and livestock management.
“We’re really excited to be collaborating with the universities from Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, and Guam to make more training and professional development opportunities available for our farmers and ranchers,” said NMC President Carmen Fernandez.
The first segment of the Marianas Grazing Academy will involve a series of workshops that will be held on Rota in Nov. 11, 12, and 13, and on Tinian on Nov. 17, 18, and 19. These initial workshops will include training on pasture and livestock management issues, including forage production, grazing management planning, weed control, forage selection, animal health and treatment practices, meat quality and marketing, and mobile slaughter facilities.
To register for the workshops, contact Alejandro Badilles on Rota at 532-9513 or Dr. Allen Sabaldica on Tinian at 433-2576.
The academy project has been made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
