(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — As of Feb. 17, 2022, there were 11 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:
3 unvaccinated, 8 vaccinated.
One of 11 was on a ventilator.
226 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 8,153 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported on Thursday evening. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 226 cases identified in the community:
218 were identified on Feb. 16, 2022, and 8 prior to Feb. 16, 2022.
11 were identified on Tinian.
Individuals who test positive for Covid-19 should stay home and isolate when they are sick (except to get medical care), even if they do not have symptoms. They should rest and stay hydrated. They can take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve symptoms, and live Covid-19 safe.
Individuals experiencing Covid-19 symptoms should stay home and live Covid-19 safe (except to get medical care or get tested for Covid-19). Other options include seeing their healthcare provider or calling the CHCC Tele-Triage hotline at (670) 233-2067. A total of 60 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on Feb. 17, 2022; of the eligible population, 55.2% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population.
The vaccination statuses of the 226 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 743 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 16, 2022:
405 via Community-Based Testing;
258 at the Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center;
72 at Tinian Health Center; and
8 at the Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 16, 2022, there were 6,408 recoveries and 1,720 active cases.
Of the cases, 7,536 were identified via community testing and 617 through travel testing.
Since March 2020, there have been 25 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
